Packing Tips for your Wedding and Honeymoon
Just like all of the other elements of your destination wedding, packing for your Puerto Vallarta wedding and honeymoon will require a little planning. No doubt your tropical honeymoon will be exciting no matter what, but a little planning will minimize the stress and maximize the romance.
Before your trip, consider what you'll need to take along for a perfect honeymoon. With a little advance preparation and thought, you'll be ready to go! And by planning ahead, you'll have time to think about what you'll need - so you don't leave anything important behind. Here are a few packing tips to help you organize your Puerto Vallarta honeymoon.

- Before packing lay out everything and put together your outfits to be sure you have what you need. Include your shoes and all other accessories as well.
- Pack LIGHT. Lugging around a huge suitcase is not romantic and does not allow you to enjoy your trip to its fullest. Choose comfortable clothes you can mix and match. [Don't forget shorts and bathing suits]
- Bring only clothes that fit, flatter and feel good. Your honeymoon is not the time to bring an outfit that you hope works for you.
- Make sure to pack outfits that can be dressed up. Accessories take up a lot less room than clothes and can take you from day to evening.
- Include sparkly earrings and strappy sandals for those romantic dinners. Tennis shoes and a hat are always good for daytime activities.
- Pack an excellent daypack that can hold maps, guidebooks, cameras, wallets and a bottle of water while you are sightseeing.
- Don't forget to pack essential items such as sunscreen, bug repellent, anti-itch cream, extra batteries, a mini-sewing kit, first aid kit, etc.
- Pack a collapsible bag to carry home all of your wedding gifts, honeymoon momentos, souvenirs and purchases.
- Pack romantic extras - bring along your favorite CDs, massage oils and lotions, sexy lingerie, candles . . . be creative and have fun!
- Pack a surprise gift. There's nothing like finding a beautifully wrapped gift on a pillow your first night together as husband and wife.
- Remember to pack some of your things in each other's luggage, and a few essential items - underwear, toiletries and valuables - in your carry-on bags, just in case one of your suitcases gets lost in transit.
- Make sure your name, home, and vacation address are on a luggage tag and somewhere inside the bag as well.
- Photocopy your passport and important documents and make a list of credit cards and traveler's check numbers. Keep photocopies and lists in a secure place and leave a copy with friends/family at home.
- Mark your luggage with a distinguishing ribbon or tag. 90% of all bags are now black. Tie on a colored ribbon or wrap a special colored luggage wrap around your bags to set you apart.
- Be sure to place your airline tickets, hotel confirmation, passports and travel documents in a place where you won't forget them.
